World Triathlon is proud to announce the appointment of Jon Wyatt as its new Secretary General. Following an exhaustive selection process that evaluated over a hundred candidates, his appointment has received the unanimous approval of the World Triathlon Executive Board. Jon will officially assume his new role in early August, once he concludes his current position with the FIH, bringing a wealth of experience and strategic vision to the organization.
Jon Wyatt previously served as the Interim Senior Director and Director of Sport and Sustainability at the International Hockey Federation (FIH). A highly commercially oriented leader with over 20 years of expertise in sports marketing, business development, and strategic management, coupled with an additional seven years in international sports administration. He is a two-time Olympian, a strategic consultant with Accenture, and has worked extensively across multiple sectors—including Olympic IF sports administration, sports marketing, and commercial partnerships.
Throughout his career, Jon has demonstrated exceptional ability to motivate teams and drive both commercial and operational success, all while maintaining a focus on long-term growth and development. His diverse background and leadership qualities make him uniquely suited to guide World Triathlon’s future endeavors.
In his new role, Jon will focus on implementing the organizational changes desired by the President and the Executive Board, introducing innovative approaches to promote sustainable growth and inclusivity at all levels of triathlon worldwide. He will also play a key role in executing the new commercial strategies developed through the comprehensive commercial study that Deloitte is preparing for World Triathlon.
A new organizational structure will be implemented, aligned with the organization’s future goals and the upcoming commercial and marketing strategies, to foster continued growth and development in the sport.
