Europe Triathlon is pleased to reveal the host cities for the 2027 European Championships, marking an important milestone in the organisation’s long-term strategy to deliver high-quality events across the continent. Four iconic destinations: Kitzbühel, Ceuta, Calahorra and Cáceres have been selected to host major championship events in the 2027 season, each offering a unique environment and exceptional organisational capability.
Marc D’hooge, President of Europe Triathlon, expressed his enthusiasm for the announcement and underlined the organisation’s commitment to long-term planning: “We are proud to unveil the host cities for our 2027 European Championships. Each destination reflects a deep passion for our sport and a proven commitment to delivering excellence. From the coastal energy of Ceuta to the alpine prestige of Kitzbühel, and the rugged beauty of Calahorra to the historic charm of Cáceres, we are confident these championships will elevate the athlete experience and strengthen the profile of triathlon across Europe. Importantly, we remain committed to announcing our championship hosts well in advance so that athletes, coaches, organisers and federations can prepare thoroughly for the seasons ahead. Long-term planning is essential to the growth of our sport, and these early announcements reflect that commitment.”
Walter Zettinig, President of Austria Triathlon also expressed pride in once again welcoming Europe’s best to Kitzbühel: “We are proud that Europe Triathlon has entrusted Austria with hosting the 2027 European Championships in Kitzbühel. This decision highlights the strong partnership between our national federation, the region of Kitzbühel, the Triathlon Club Kitzbühel and Europe Triathlon, and it reflects the high standards we have established in recent years. Spain will host three of the 2027 European Championships, a milestone welcomed by the Spanish Triathlon Federation. Its President, José Hidalgo, highlighted the importance of this collaboration: “The celebration in Spain in 2027 of the three European Championships—the Sprint in Ceuta, the Cross Triathlon in Calahorra, and the Duathlon in Cáceres—reaffirms the commitment of the Spanish Federation with the development of the European Federation. We are a federation committed to facts, and we are very happy to be able to cooperate in the development and advancement of European triathlon through the celebration in Spain of these three championships.”
