At the halfway point of the 2014 ETU season, the new ETU Rankings series is proving to be just as exciting as the action on the course.
A total prize fund of 25,000€ has been put forward by the ETU to reward our best performing athletes. The ETU Grand Final will be held in Madrid in September and ETU President, Renato Bertrandi, is excited at the prospect of a thrilling finale.
“We are now in the middle of the season and l am pleased to see that many athletes are competing in our ETU Ranking,” he said.
“The ETU Grand Final will take place in Madrid this year and on this occasion we will award prize money to reward the first ten male and female athletes in the rankings.”
In the Women’s ETU Series Rankings, 2013 European Champion Rachel Klamer (NED) leads the way by a solitary point ahead of German debutant Sophie Saller. Yuliya Yelistratova (UKR), Petra Kurikova (CZE) and 4 time European Champion Nicola Spirig complete the current top five but with six European Cup races remaining and two sprint European Cups, there are plenty points left to fight for.
