Take out the calendars and save the date! Edmonton is set to host the 2027 World Triathlon Multisport Championships from 16 to 25 July, bringing the world's premier multisport event to one of triathlon's most storied cities. Thousands of elite and age-group athletes from across the globe will converge on Edmonton across ten action-packed days of racing, culture, and celebration.
The World Triathlon Multisport Championships is the pinnacle event for multisport disciplines, bringing together elite and age-group athletes from more than 60 countries to compete across six disciplines: Duathlon, Cross Triathlon, Cross Duathlon, Aquathlon, Long Distance Triathlon, and Long Distance Aquabike for Elite, Para and Age-Groupers.
First held in 2017 also in Canada, in Penticton, the Championships has grown into one of the largest and most diverse events in the triathlon calendar, celebrating the full breadth of what the multisport community has to offer.
Edmonton has established itself as one of the most trusted and capable hosts in the multisport calendar, having delivered events of every scale — from World Cup competitions to World Championship Finals — with consistent excellence. The 2027 edition promises to be another landmark chapter in that proud history.
Competition Schedule
The event gets under way on Friday, 16 July with the Opening Ceremony and Parade of Nations, setting the stage for ten days of world-class competition.
Duathlon kicks off the action on Saturday, 17 July, with the Elite, U23, Junior, Para and Age-Group Sprint World Championships, continuing into Sunday, 18 July, with the Age-Group Standard distance and the 2x2 Elite Mixed Relay.
Cross Triathlon takes centre stage on Tuesday, 20 July, for the Elite, Junior, Para and Age-Groupers, followed by Cross Duathlon on Thursday, 22 July and Aquathlon on Friday, 23 July.
The Championships will conclude on Sunday, 25 July with the Long Distance Triathlon World Championships for elite and Age-groupers and the Long Distance Aquabike for Age-groupers, capped by the Closing Ceremony.
