Yukako started out as a competitive swimmer before participating in paratriathlon, with swimming being her strongest of the three disciplines.
Since winning her first top-tier event in Yokohama in 2014, she has represented Japan at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and been a regular on World Cup and WPS podiums.
