La Foto ITU del Año es una competencia en la que eres tú quien decides, pero esta semana, la respuesta fue tan impresionante que merece una salva de aplausos. Todo giró alrededor de dos tomas sumamente populares, la imagen del atleta brasileño Eduardo Lass dejando el agua en la competencia masculina, y la del atleta marroquí Mohamed Lahna cruzando la meta en el evento mundial de Paratriatlón.

Al comienzo de la semana, Lahna estaba claramente a la cabeza- pero eso fue antes de que los brasileños comenzaran a elegir, con la cooperación del mismísimo Lass que twitteó en la encuesta. Por el término de un día, Lass estuvo al frente, luego, el último día de votación, la imagen de Lahna la superó y ganó con el 40.65 por ciento de la votación. La foto número 2 logró el 38,07 por ciento. La elección condice con un año espectacular para el Paratriatlón , este campeonato mundial fue el primero en el que los atletas compitieron con los Para Olímpicos en mente, tras su aceptación oficial al programa de los Juegos Para Olímpicos Río 2016 . Hace solo unas semanas, la ITU oficialmente se convirtió en un miembro del CPI . Y vuestros comentarios reflejaron cuán inspirador es el Paratriatlón.

Esta semana las imágenes pertenecieron a Delly Carr y Janos Schmidt. La elección de Delly fue la que muestra a Beijing 2008 por los recuerdos que evoca de esos Juegos Olímpicos.

“Hace solo tres años China ofreció al mundo un espectáculo maravilloso de este deporte durante los Juegos Olímpicos. Aquellos afortunados que pudieron estar allí no lo olvidan. Los recuerdos perdurarán por siempre, no como el esfuerzo o dolor físico que lentamente desaparecen.

Janos se queda con la imagen de largada, como lo hiciera Delly la semana pasada.

“Sé que en la votación de la semana pasada, Delly eligió la foto de la largada. Esta es mi versión del mismo momento, pero tomada en Beijing, sin sol, sin colores impresionantes, pero con montañas hermosas cubiertas de smog y una construcción china típica como fondo.”
