After a few years of absence, the international triathlon family returns to the country where there were many continental events held before under the umbrella of ETU. Kedzierzyn Kozle is a new city on the map of triathlon, but will make a successful debut tomorrow on the series with the experience of the last few years national championships, with the solid background of the Polish Triathlon Federation and the excellent work of the local municipality.

Athletes traveled to this small city in the south of Poland from over 20 countries. Lenka Zemanova (Radova) is the biggest name on the womens field. Zemanova is concentrating on the European Cup series this year besides the World Cups and the World Championships thanks to the effort of the European Triathlon Union of producing a 26 minutes TV show from all the Premium European Cups. Zemanova will be challenged by Christiane Pilz from Germany and the local favorite Ewa Dederko.

In the mens field the biggest name is Martin Krnavek. He is currently ranked 3rd on the ETU Ranking, thanks to his good performance on the European Championships in Autun where he came 4th and he can easily find himself on the top with a good results in Poland. The winner of the Holten Premium European Cup, Andrey Glouschenko is also ready to perform well again after bad race in Lausanne on the World Championships. Frederik van Lierde is also ready for a good result to climb to better positions on the ITU and ETU rankings.

The course is two laps swim in the Odra River, but there will not be any current in that part where the swim takes place. The bike course will be flat but full of technical turns during the 8 laps and it will be a spectacular 4 laps run.

Stay tuned on www.etu-triathlon.org and www.triathlon.org for results and pictures immediately after the race.
