Welcome to Kenya and specifically to Kilifi County!
Kilifi is a beautiful coastal town located north of Mombasa, along the shores of the Indian Ocean. The name “Kilifi” is derived from the Neem tree (Mkilifi), which is native to this area. The town sits along Kilifi Creek, an estuary of the Goshi River, and is known for its serene beaches such as Bofa Beach, lined with resorts and swaying palms.
Just a short distance away, Watamu Marine National Park and Reserve offers a breathtaking underwater world where green turtles glide among colourful coral reefs. Kilifi is also home to the Mnarani Ruins, an ancient Swahili settlement featuring two historic mosques and several tombs, a reminder of the region’s rich cultural heritage.
This is a peaceful and welcoming town, where everything is within walking distance and the people are exceptionally friendly.
We at Triathlon Kenya is thrilled to welcome you to the 2025 World Triathlon Development Regional Cup, hosted once again here in Kilifi after the great success of the Africa Triathlon and Duathlon Cups held in October at the same venue.
This year’s event features a diverse range of races: from Elite Men and Women to Youth Men and Women, showcasing the spirit, talent, and growth of triathlon in our region.
Karibuni (welcome) to Kilifi, welcome to Kenya, and welcome to a celebration of sport, community, and excellence!
