2025 Africa Triathlon Cup Oran

Oran, locally called "Wahran el Bahia" (Radiant Oran) is the 2nd largest city in Algeria, which has become an important metropolis of the Mediterranean. It is located 430 km west of Algiers. It was founded in 903 by Andalusian Moorish traders and is located at the bottom of a bay open to the north and dominated to the west by the mountain of Aidour, with a height of 850 m. Oran has known several dynasties that have made it prosper and shape. There are the Spanish fortifications of the sixteenth century, the Pasha Mosque of the eighteenth century, Sidi ElHouari, the patron saint of the city, buried in the mausoleum of the Koubba, built in 1793, next to the Santa Cruz Chapel, built in 1850. It is a cosmopolitan city, imbued with the influence of successive occupants, thus possessing a Berber, Arab, Spanish and French identity. It is steeped in history with its fortresses, monuments, squares and historical places. Today, it has become a metropolis with national and international prestige, with great economic and industrial attractiveness. It aims to become a major hub for trade, trade and tourism, because it has enormous potential, thanks to its multi-sectoral dynamic. Whether you are travelling for sport or just passing through, you will find a certain charm in Oran, with its Algerian, French and Spanish mixtures. In the evening it is good to stroll along the seafront, enjoying a magnificent view of the Mediterranean Sea.
