Triathlon is a loved sport in Wuustwezel. Many people will offer a place to sleep to the athletes. We just set up the ‘Homestay’-project and there are many people interested.

Or send us an e-mail with you personal and flight information and we complete it for you. PLease complete this before the 1st of August.
Most of the people don’t ask for a contribution, so you can save a lot of money. We bring you in contact with your homestay so that you can arrange the rest by yourself. Hope to see you soon!

The ETU Sprint triathlon in Wuustwezel will be part of the European triathlon circuit in 2017. It is the first time the organisation will organize an European race. After ten successful editions of the Sterke Peer triathlon, they now expand to a full weekend. Sunday, August 13 will be entirely devoted to the European races. Around 12:30h, the start of the women is expected. They are first in line to give the best of themselves. The men will dive into the water around 14:30h. The bike and run part will be centralized in the centre of Wuustwezel.
The races are both sprint distance. A 750 meter swim, 20k bike and a 5k run will decide the winner of the first European cup in Wuustwezel.
The number of participants will be limited to 70 men and 70 women.

Athletes Briefing:

The athlete briefing is set around 18h on Saturday, August 12. Around that time, there will be another race in the centre of Wuustwezel. Some roads will be blocked so be on time! The officials will shut the door and there won’t be any exceptions. The briefing takes place at Kadans, Achter d’Hoven, 2990 Wuustwezel. Next, you can register and you get your race package. Don’t forget to bring your identification to the briefing!

Event Schedule

The course familiarization is planned Saturday, August 12 at 10 o’clock. We will meet at Kampweg 178 (industrial area – Clics Toys), close to the swim start. Accompanied by the police, all the elite men and elite women athletes will ride one lap of the bike course. After, there is some time to test the swim area. The buoys won’t be on the right place because of other races on Saturday.

RACE DAY on Sunday, August 13. First, the women will start at 12:30 and the men will start at 14:30.

You have to fill in your journey (from and to), one way/return, number of passengers, pick up date and flight number, then you can choose your type of taxi. If you have a lot of luggage, choose for a bigger taxi. You can also check the costs for the transport. The transportation costs will be borne by the athlete(s). After that, you have to fill in your personal details and confirm the registration. Book your transport in advance!
