WTCS Yokohama got 2022 up and running in the best possible fashion, here are the talking points: 1. U23 World Champion Emma Lombardi finished fourth in her first WTCS race, underlining her one-to-watch status 2. The Aussies and Kiwis were back in force after their pandemic travel restrictions, with Wilde and Hauser leading the men's charge 3. But the French - and the Portuguese - were also flying, with top 5 finishers Leo Bergere and Pierre le Corre, Leonie Periault and Emma Lombardi 4. Australia's Nic Beveridge scored his first ever win on the World Triathlon Para Series stage to take men's PTWC gold 5.
