Theodoros Moraitis is a Greek Paratriathlete, born in 1978, who competes in the PTS5 Men category. His diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis in 2003 was an event that revised his perspective on life, transforming the challenge into a personal motivation. A key source of inspiration and the catalyst for his involvement with triathlon was the film 100 Meters (100 Metros), which tells the story of an athlete also diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis who managed to complete an Ironman triathlon race. Thus, through his consistent involvement with Triathlon, Theodoros Moraitis managed to turn his athletic journey into a source of energy and continuous development.
His mission, beyond personal development and distinction, aims to actively inspire all people living with some form of disability. He conveys the message that they can chase their dreams, transcend limits, and realize their ambitions, provided they believe in their strength and work with consistency.
Outside of his career in Paratriathlon, Theodoros Moraitis actively participates in able-bodied triathlon races in Greece, as well as in running events. Particularly significant was his presence in races such as the Athens Half Marathon, as well as in National Championships, where he practically demonstrates his continuous commitment to overcoming limits.
He is an active member of Panathinaikos Sports Club for People with Disabilities, the Association of People with Multiple Sclerosis and the Panhellenic Federation of People with Multiple Sclerosis.
The continuous overcoming of personal limits constitutes the driving force behind every effort he makes. Every race is a crucial step towards the major goal of participating in the Paralympic Games. With his dedication to Paratriathlon, he continues to compete for personal distinction, the strengthening of the Greek presence, and the showcasing of the value of perseverance against every obstacle.
